Perennial herb from a tunicate corm. Leaves several, mostly basal, linear. Inflorescence to about 25 cm. Flowers several, open funnel-shaped; spring to summer. Tepals to 50 mm long, blue or purplish, veins darker. Fruit a capsule. Seeds pear-shaped, black, net-patterned.
Grown in full sun on well-drained soils.
SW and C Asia to Kashmir.
