Perennial herb to about 10 cm. Leaves 2-3, broadly linear. Inflorescence 1-3 flowered. Flowers bowl-shaped, spreading; spring. Tepals to 40 mm long, blue to violet, sometimes white basally; stamens and sterile stamens yellow. Fruit many-seeded.
