Milkmaids

A perennial herb with thickened roots from a short rhizome. Inflorescence to 65 cm, flowers in a bracteate umbel. Leaves 1-2, linear-tapering, sheathing. Flowers numerous, spreading, to 2.5 cm wide; spring.Tepals white to pinkish, anthers and ovary reddish purple.

Grown as a garden ornamental in full sun to light shade.
