Eriostemon myoporoides DC.

Long-leaf Wax Flower

Shrub to 2 m tall but often much less, often waxy-blue. Leaves variable, narrowly elliptic to obovate, warty, 1.5-11 cm long, 0.5-2 cm wide, with a prominent midrib. Flowers 1-8 in axillary clusters, white; spring and autumn.

This species has recently been transferred to Philotheca as P. myoporoides Bayly with new subspecies but is retained under the old name here.

Various other cultivars are listed, including a long-leaf form.

Eriostemon myoporoides 'Profusion'

Compact shrub to about 1.5 m tall. Leaves shorter and thicker than those of the species. Flowers white, prolific, fragrant; June-Nov. Listed by Palmers Nsy, New Zealand, in 1969 but recorded by acra in June 1966.

Eriostemon myoporoides 'Stardust'

Compact shrub to 2 m tall and flowering profusely from mid-winter to spring. First listed in 1981.
