Michaelmas Daisy

Erect perennial herb to 1.2 m tall, glabrous or slightly hairy above. Stems muchbranched. Leaves along stems, to 15 cm long, sparsely toothed, base stem-clasping, glabrous. Capitula about 5 cm across, in dense panicles; summer to autumn. Ray florets violet-blue. Disk florets yellow.

Widely cultivated as an ornamental and available as a wide range of cultivars.
