Woody, twining climber. Leaves to about 14 cm long, narrowly elliptic, 3-veined, the margins toothed. Flower clusters long, pendent, with purplish bracts concealing the calyx rim. Flowers to about 4 cm long, with a yellow tube and copper lobes; spring.
