Veronica longifolia L.

Perennial to nearly 2 m tall. Leaves opposite, in whorls of 3-4, each to about 10 cm long, 2 cm wide, more or less lanceolate with a long-pointed tip. Flower clusters terminal, to 20 cm or more long, sometimes with a few small side branches; late summer to autumn. Flowers crowded, pale blue to violet.
