Evergreen broad, thornless, canopied tree to 20 m tall. Leaves 15-22 cm long, with 5-8 pairs of ovate to lanceolate leaflets 2-9 cm long, 2-4 cm wide. Flower clusters upright, 7-8 cm long, with numerous flowers; summer. Flowers with pinkish sepals and petals about 1 cm long, yellow to cream. Fruit pods cylindrical, woody, 10-30 cm long,1-1.5 cm wide, containing 20-50 seeds.
