Evergreen shrub to about 2 m tall. Young shoots angled, glandular and resinous. Leaves mostly 4-7 cm long, 1.5-2.5 cm wide, obovate to oblong, base tapered to the stalk; margin with teeth towards the blade tip only. Flowers in a short terminal cluster; autumn. Petals ovate, erect, red. Fruit about 4 mm wide.
