Buxus balearica Lam.

Balearic Box

Shrub or small tree. Shoots stout, stiff, erect, hairless or soon so. Leaves 2.5-4 cm long,mid-green and only slightly glossy above. Flower cluster about 1 cm wide with blunt, almost round bracteoles. Fruit with styles bowed, 5-7 mm long.

Balearic Islands, SW Spain.

Sturdy plant with stiff shoots and large leaves hardly shiny on the upper surface; styles curved.
