Oenothera missouriensis Sims

Evening-flowering, spreading to more or less upright perennial to nearly 50 cm tall. Leaves lanceolate, 2.5-10 cm long, entire. Flowers several, petals 2.5-5 cm long, yellow but reddening with age. Fruit capsule 5-7.5 cm long with 4 wings. Syn. O. macrocarpa Pursh.
