Leucadendron xanthoconus (O.Kuntze) K.Schum.

Shrub 1-2 m tall from a single stem. Leaves to 6.5 cm long, 6 mm wide, linear to oblong, slightly sickle-shaped and with a hard point, twisted at the base, slightly hairy even when mature. Female flower heads about 1.8 cm long, ovoid.

S Africa (Cape).

Leaves narrow, slightly sickle-shaped with a hard point. L. coniferum is similar but a much larger shrub. L. salignum has hairless leaves.
