Leucadendron gandogeri Gandoger

Erect shrub to about 1.5 m tall. Leaves to about 9 cm or so long, to 2.5 cm wide, oblanceolate to elliptic, rigid. Bract leaves becoming yellow flushed orange and red. Female flower head about 2.5 cm long, above the bracts and with yellow florets.

S Africa (Cape).

Leaves large, oblanceolate to elliptic, hairless, the basal floral leaves wide-spreading. L. laureolum is similar but has enveloping basal leaves. L. spissifolium is also similar but has ciliate basal bracts and a multi-stemmed base.
