Shrub to 2 m tall. Leaves linear to narrowly obovate, 1.5-8 cm long, 3-6 mm wide with a point at the tip, margin slightly rolled under. Flower clusters of 7, 13 or 19 flowers. Flowers irregular, 2.5-3 cm long, reddish orange to yellow and greenish at the tip, hairy outside; spring to early summer. Fruit ovoid, about 1 cm long and wide, with 2 prominent horns.
