Horny Conebush

Prickly shrub to about 1m tall, often less. Leaves to about 3.5 cm long, deeply divided equally into 2s or 3s and sharply pointed. Flower clusters ovoid to spherical, terminal or axillary, stalkless, to 3 cm wide and surrounded with leaves. Flowers to 1.5 cm long, yellow, hairless except for hair at the tips of the segments; winter to early summer. Fruiting cones to about 2 cm wide.
