Swamp Banksia

Open shrub to 3 m tall with smooth bark. Leaves alternate, mostly broadly obovate, 15-30 cm long, 5-15 cm wide, hairy below; margins slightly bent under and with many small teeth. Flower cone cylindrical, 10-15 cm long, about 6 cm wide. Perianth about 2.5 cm long, changing from bright green to golden yellow; Jan-July. Style straight. Fruit numerous,1-1.5 cm long.

B. oblongifolia is a more spreading shrub with smaller leaves, yellow hairy flowers and wider fruits.
