Red Swamp Banksia

Shrub to small tree with thin, grey bark. Leaves whorled, linear,mostly 5-12 cm long, 2-3 mm wide, white-hairy below; margins rolled under and slightly toothed. Flower cone cylindrical, 5-15 cm long, about 7 cm wide. Perianth about 18 mm long, deep yellow; Dec-Mar. Style curved at tip, coppery red. Fruit numerous, 1-2 cm long.

B. spinulosa has alternate and much shorter leaves.
