Banksia oblongifolia Cav.

Fern-leaved Banksia

Shrub to 3 m tall but generally smaller with smooth grey bark. Leaves alternate, obovate to oblong, mostly 5-10 cm long, 1.5-2 cm wide, hairy below; margins sawtoothed. Flower cone cylindrical, 5-15 cm long, 5-6 cm wide. Perianth mostly 2-2.5 cm long, yellow with a hint of grey; Mar-June. Style yellow, slightly curved. Fruit 1-2 cm long. B. asplenifolia of authors other than Salisb.
