Banksia grandis Willd.

Bull Banksia

Tree to 10 m tall with thick, rough bark. Leaves to 40 cm long, 10 cm wide, divided to the midrib into triangular lobes that overlap slightly at the base, 3-4 main veins, the central one reaching the tip. Flower cone 10-40 cm long, cylindrical. Perianth 2.5-3.5 cm long, pale yellow; spring. Style cream, curved. Fruit cone to about 9 cm wide with numerous follicles.
