Shrub to 3 m tall. Leaves mostly to 5 cm long, 4 cm wide, elliptic to obovate, slightly hairy. Flowers to 3 cm long, surrounded by bracts when in bud, pinkish to purple, keel white; spring to summer. Fruit pod woolly, to 3 cm long,1 cm wide, containing numerous seeds.
