Accepted name: Rosa willmottiae

Dense shrub 2-3 m tall. Prickles paired at nodes. Leaflets 7-9, 0.5-1.5 cm long, roundish to obovate, teeth simple or compound. Flowers mostly solitary, single, petals purplish pink, fragrant; early summer. Styles free, not protruding. Fruit 1-2 cm wide, pear-shaped to round, orange-red.

W and NW China.
