Plant becoming prostrate as it grows. Leaves obovate, to 5 cm long, 3 cm wide, crowded, thick, rounded at the tip and with a waxy covering, extremely smooth and often suffused with lavender, looking like sugared almonds. Flower clusters of 7-15 flowers on stems to about 10 cm long. Flowers about 1 cm long; late winter to early spring.
