Begonia scharffii Hook.f.

Roots fibrous. Stems erect to over 1 m tall, woody, red, hairy. Leaves broadly ovate to over 20 cm long, hairy, bronze green upper surface, glossy; red, hairy below. Flowers to 5 cm wide, pale pink, covered with red hairs, numerous in large spreading clusters.
