Begonia coccinea Hook.

Roots fibrous. Stems to 35 cm tall, thin, fleshy and glabrous. Leaves to 12 cm long, fleshy, upper surface mid-green with waxy coating, hairless, sometimes flushed red below; margins entire. Flowers 1.5 cm wide, bright pinkish-orange, fading to dark pink with age in large open clusters.
