Semi-evergreen shrub with arching branches. Young shoots more or less 2-edged. Leaves ovate-oblong mostly 5-8 cm long, stalkless, bluish below. Flowers numerous mostly 2-3 cm wide. Sepals bending back in fruit. Stamens longer than petals. Styles 3; summer. [H. elatum Aiton]
Mediterranean, Canary Islands
May become weedy.
Large leaves; flowers prolific; styles long; sepals persistent; fruits brown to reddish, pointed not roundish as in H. androsaemum.
