Creeping evergreen shrub. Young shoots mostly 4-angled. Leaves ovate to oblong, to 10 cm long, waxy grey and conspicuously veined below. Flowers solitary or a few together, mostly 5-7 cm wide. Stamens in 5 clusters; anthers reddish. Styles 5; summer.
