Shrub. Branchlets hairless. Leaves about 7-9 cm long, 3-5 cm wide, more or less elliptic, shallowly saw-toothed often with the brown spots that typify C. japonica. Ovary extremely hairy. Flowers mostly white to dark pink.
Seed parent C. saluenensis pollinated by cultivars of C. japonica.
Raised by and named after Mr J.C. Williams of Caerhays Castle, United Kindom.
Has the larger flowers of C. saluenensis combined with the hardiness of C. japonica.
