Corn Spurrey

Herb occasionally to 40 cm tall but mostly much smaller, more or less erect, having glandular hairs on the stems leaves and sepals. Leaves in clusters at the joints, linear 1-3 cm long, 0.5 mm wide, fleshy. Flowers on individual flower stalks to about 2 cm long, bending back and then straightening after flowering; spring, early summer. Sepals 3-4 mm long. Stamens 10. Seeds round, black with narrow wing.

Widely naturalised in Australia as a weed of paths, waste places and gardens.
