Silene armeria L.

Garden Catchfly

Annual or biennial herb with stems about 30-40 cm tall, hairless and waxy blue, sticky on upper stems. Basal leaves spoon-shaped, stem leaves ovate to lanceolate becoming smaller higher up the stem, surrounding the stem at their base. Flowers in a flat head. Sepal tube about 1.5 cm long. Petals pink with a shallow notch, scales pronounced, pointed.
