Dianthus deltoides L.

Tufted slightly hairy perennial with green or waxy blue foliage. Leaves to about 1.5 cm long, linear to narrowly oblanceolate. Flowers solitary. Calyx hairy, to nearly 2 cm long, purplish. Epicalyx bracts 2 or 4 about half as long as the calyx. Petal blades about 8 mm long, bearded and irregularly toothed, pink, darker at base.

Eurasia

Several cultivars are available in the white to red colour range.
