Accepted name: Eriosyce subgibbosa
Body spherical to shortly cylindrical eventually large to 1 m tall. Ribs 16-20, tuberculate with large areoles. Central spines 4-8, radials 16-24. Flowers pink, 3-6 cm long.
Chile
N. wagenknechtii F. Ritter differs mostly in having fewer ribs and flowers less than 3 cm long.
