Papaver atlanticum (Ball) Coss.

Bristle-haired perennial herb to about 50 cm tall, branched near the base. Leaves toothed or irregularly lobed, hairy below. Flowers with hairy, petals to about 4 cm long, mostly orange to scarlet. Capsule narrowly club-like, to 4 cm long with hairs on the apical ridges.
