Thalictrum dipterocarpum Franch.

Perennial over 1m tall, stems blackish. Leaves divided 2-3 times. Leaflets to 1.5 cm long, 3-lobed or entire. Sepals 4, purple to white. Stamens shorter than sepals, drooping, summer. Fruit flattened achenes , short-stalked with 2 narrow wings.

The most commonly cultivated species, with several cultivars although plants listed under this name may be T. delavayi.
