Clematis ×jackmanii T.Moore

Leaves at top of vine simple, others with 3 more or less ovate, pointed leaflets. Flowers in 3s at the tip of young shoots. Perianth segments 4(6), obovate with 3 veins, hairy on the outside, dark violet. Raised by Jackman in 1858 this hybrid is the direct or indirect parent of the Jackmanii group of hybrids and cultivars. The hybrid parents are possibly c. lanuginosa and c. viticella. 'Alba' Flowers double at first, later blooms being single, greyish white. Raised Noble, 1878.
