Rhizome thin, long-creeping, forming two branches at each division, scales dark brown. Fronds divided 2-4 times, large, eventually growing to over 1 m long and then developing a twining habit, the midrib characteristically zig-zag on mature fronds. Stalk relatively long. Segments to about 4 cm long, 2.5 cm wide, leathery with a pale border.
Needs shelter and warmth.
