Ephedra fragilis Desf.

Climbing or scrambling plant with leaves about 2 mm long. Male inflorescence almost stalkless with 4-8 flowers. Female with 2 flowers, 2-3 pairs of bracts. Fruit 8-9 mm long, red. Once naturalised at Beaumaris and North Brighton, Victoria and occasionally cultivated in gardens.

Mediterranean.
