Rhizome short, erect, sometimes forming a trunk to 1.5 m or so tall with several crowns. Fronds to 2m long, lanceolate in outline. Segments saw-toothed, fertile parts on the lower part of the frond. Sporangia numerous, large, round, rust-coloured when mature and gathered towards the base of the frond and its branches.
Can grow in cool areas.
