Rhizome long-creeping, wiry. Fronds to 2 m long, forking into 2 at each branch, each of which is divided 1 or 2 times. Ultimate segments small, flat or incurved, about 1.5 mm long, more or less round. Sori 2-4 below each segment, pale yellow.
Can grow in cool areas.

G. dicarpa R. Br., Pouched Coral fern, is occasionally grown and differs in being low-growing with pouched segments on hairy branchlets.
