Magnolia campbellii subsp. mollicomata (W.W. Sm.) Johnstone

Densely yellow hairy flower stalks and branchlets, also buds exceptionally long and bullet-shaped. Flowers pale rose pink outside, pink with dark base outside, the inner perianth segments enfolding the stamens to give a ‘cup-and-saucer’ appearance, appearing after about 7–8 years.
