Silene viscaria

Perennial with short shoots and a clumping rootstock. Flowers on stalks to about 50 cm tall. Leaves narrowly oblanceolate. Flowers in a series of clusters along the flower spike. Sepals and entire, purplish petal tips about 1 cm long. Petal scales lanceolate.

Europe, W Asia

Very sticky (fly-catching) below the stem joints, hence the common name.
