Iochroma cyaneum (Lindl.) M. L. Green

Shrub to 3 m tall. Leaves lanceolate to 15 cm or more long, 8 cm wide, hairy. Flower clusters axillary or terminal, to about 20 per cluster. Flowers with tube about 3.5 cm long, dark blue-violet. [I. lanceolatum (Miers) Miers, I. tubulosum Benth.]

I. grandiflora Benth. from Ecuador is occasionally sold and has slightly larger, deep violet-purple flowers in clusters of 6-8.
